Kentucky Derby
Kentucky Derby Party sponsored by Auburn University Continuing
Education held the first weekend in May. Come out and enjoy this
annual fundraiser for continuing education scholarships. The
day begins with the First Lady of Montgomery’s Hat parade,
horse demonstrations, silent auction and local media races. As
post time nears for Run for the Roses nears, Mint Juleps, “betting” and
cheers abound while everyone watches the race on big screen televisions.
After the race, guests have dinner and dance the night away.
Howard J. Morris, Jr. Memorial Show
Montgomery Area Dressage and Combined Training’s Annual
Horse, Howard J. Morris, Jr. Memorial Show is held in October.
The club dedicates this show to Colonel Morris who was the founder
of dressage in Alabama. Club members compete for this prestigious
award. Past winners include Lorna Aho, Carol Ann Parker and Diane
Brooks.
Equestrians from around the state spend a day competing with
dressage and combined training with guest judges. The award plaque
proudly hangs in the barn aisle for everyone to see.
Christmas
Christmas at Pinchona - David and Marianne invite boarders to
enjoy a holiday party. This is a special time of the year to
thank our boarders, friends and farm friends to share stories
and holiday cheer!
Throughout the year the Pinchona family celebrates several holidays!
Think of a holiday and we probably gather for it.
